As well as using traditional ways to construct knitted clothing, I also experiment with the shape of the garment. I use techniques more usually found in dressmaking, to produce an unusual effect.

Everyone finds particular lines and shapes aesthetically pleasing; I use these regularly in my designs to lead the eye or to follow a natural body contour. I feel that a garment should complement your body. There’s nothing worse that a garment that’s wearing the person.

I enjoy using oblique angles, as they are very flattering especially when combined with a patterned stitch, texture or function.
