Because of my practical nature, function is one of my primary considerations. I think about how and where the garment could be worn and how it will work. I’m quite a tactile person; if I’m thinking of buying a piece of clothing the first thing I do is touch it, and imagine how it will feel to wear it. It’s the same with yarn.

I use different types of stitched pattern not only for decoration but for function as well. A pattern or particular stitch technique may lend itself to tailoring, a hemline, a fastening, a collar, or a cuff.
