I find plain straight knitting, although therapeutic, can be a little monotonous. When I design a garment I try to make the process interesting and the knitter eager to get to the next stage of the pattern.

I like to combine my knitting with a variety of stitches, textures, colours, types of yarn and materials.

When I work out stitch patterns I’m looking for a complimenting balance. I use elements together for a reason. The eclectic approach is really poor design and amateurish.
